WP Subscribers v Popup Domination

Eventually as an Internet Marketer, there comes a time when you want to build your business quickly.

To do this, it often means that you must create and market your products and services to an email subscriber list held with a service such as Aweber.

The challenge comes in building a big enough list of qualified prospects.

To build a list of qualified prospects, you typically require:

  • An email autoresponder service.
  • A relevant and valuable offer to make to your prospects.
  • An effective means of presenting your offer.
  • Traffic to your offer.

Visitors do not like to land on low quality pages with no content on them and Google definitely does not like this and can penalise the domain that does not provide content to it’s readers.

In terms of paid traffic, Google will give a squeeze page a low quality score, therefore the cost per click (CPC) will be high.

For organic (free Google traffic), Google will penalise the page because the visitor will ‘bounce’ from the page frequently which will be fed back to Google as a negative vote for the content. Of course, you can “noindex” the page as a means of getting around this.

An exit script for a web page can cost a lot of money from web developers to create and you will struggle to customise them unless you’re into CSS, HTML and all that sort of fun stuff. :-)

When I first started The Profit Share, I started out with a few static HTML web pages and looked for a script that could be used for when people exited the page. I soon realised that this wasn’t a scalable solution and moved over to using WordPress as my blogging and content management system platform.

There is a definite need to ramp up your list building so you can get the sort of numbers on your list that will enable you to build a business online with a full time income coming from it. Let’s have a look at the two heavyweights fighting it out to become one of the best premium WordPress plugins on the market for building your list from your existing blog content.

Enter the Solutions

There are two main solutions which are both very affordable to the start-up and intermediate marketers. Both solutions have distinct advantages and disadvantages and roughly solve the same problem.

#1 WP Subscribers

WP Subscribers

The first of our heavyweights is a premium WordPress plugin called WP Subscribers which is developed by a Japanese plugin marketer called Jenny R.

Jenny has clearly put a lot of thought and research into what marketers want from a premium list building plugin because the list of features is massively impressive, especially when you consider the very low price tag on such a product.

WP Subscribers enables:

  • An unlimited number of highly customisable opt in forms.
  • Popup boxes using any other web page (using iFrames). The options here are endless. You could create an opt in through OptimizePress or Profits Theme and present it through a popup (like I have on my blog)
  • Every element of the design can be customised.
  • Integration with any opt in email autoresponder service
  • Opt in forms in the header of your site.
  • Opt in forms in the footer of your site.
  • Opt in forms in any post you want.
  • The use of the built-in analytics feature to determine where most of your subscribers are coming from.
  • Blog commenters to immediately and effortlessly subscribe to your list. Comment on my blog and see what happens.
  • A very innovative viral list building system whereby you can issue referral points to current subscribers to incentivise them to invite their friends and contacts to join your list.

The massive benefit of using WP Subscribers to build your list is that you become a multi-dimensional list builder. You’re no longer reliant upon just a squeeze page or just a pop up opt in box.

#2 Popup Domination

PopUp Domination Full Width Graphic

The next solution on offer is Popup Domination. This premium plugin is developed by Deer Digital and marketed by a young UK blogging entrepreneur called Michael Dunlop. I used Popup Domination for a long time on my blog and had fantastic results with it. It was responsible for increasing my opt ins by over 400% within a matter of just days after installing it. Quite honestly, I had been throwing away traffic by not capturing it using a popup box.

Since Popup Domination has been in the market longer than WP Subscribers, their marketing and popup designs are slicker which might appeal to the population that want to set it up effortlessly without putting in any customised design work. On the contrary, the designs are seen all over the Internet due to their popularity, especially in the make money online/Internet Marketing niche.

Popup Domination enables you to:

  • Use well tested high converting designs that increase the perceived value of your site.
  • Create opt in forms by simply filling in the fields within the plugin.
  • Have video squeeze pages using one of the new popup designs.
  • Create popups on standalone sites as there is a version for sites that are still using static HTML.
  • Choose which pages popups should appear.
  • Choose when popups should appear.

Conclusion

Historically, many marketers have used Popup Domination and can vouch for its quality for gaining a list of subscribers and capturing the traffic that you’ve spent a lot of time and possibly money in driving to your site.

In my opinion, for anyone wanting to get it set as quickly as possible with just a popup opt in on arrival or exit should use Popup Domination. Their designs are slightly better looking and their interface fractionally more intuitive.

For anyone who wants to bring their list building into the multi-dimensional realm and doesn’t mind customising their forms a little to give them a unique look should use WP Subscribers.

I personally am using WP Subscribers for my blog at the moment. You may have seen the pop up box when arriving at the site. The popup box I’m currently using was an iFrame of a web page which I created with OptimizePress on another one of my domains.

I am also using the subscribe upon commenting option to assist with people commenting on my blog to become a member of The Profit Share. Loving the leverage that it’s creating in my business right now!

I’m loving WP Subscribers right now and I reckon that once you see what it can do for your business, you’ll love it too. ;-)

OptimizePress v Profits Theme

Eventually as an Internet Marketer, there comes a time when you want to expand upon your credibility and build your business. To do this, it often means that you must create and market your own information product. This can be video courses, eBooks, membership sites, software, etc.

To sell the product, you typically require:

  • A squeeze page to capture the email addresses of prospects.
  • a sales page to actually sell your solution to your prospects.
  • A launch funnel system to maximise buzz.
  • A membership site to provide tutorials, support and other digital products or services.
  • The ability to write blog posts to funnel your standard blog visitors through your funnel.
  • Integration with membership scripts, autoresponder services and merchant accounts.

This requirement can bring about a series of highly technical challenges such as writing HTML and CSS code to create sales pages, the creation of fancy graphics for your sales pages and assembling it in a slick system that moves prospects through your sales funnel efficiently whether they decide to purchase, not purchase, opt in for further communications or not opt in.

Enter the Solutions

There are two main solutions which are both very affordable to the start-up and intermediate marketers. Both solutions have distinct advantages and disadvantages and roughly solve the same problem.

#1 OptimizePress

OP Header

The first of our solutions is a premium WordPress theme called OptimizePress which is developed by James Dyson and his team. OptimizePress promises to enable the user to create stunning squeeze pages that actually convert. James and his team spend hours on creating and testing different squeeze pages and sales pages to uncover what works and what doesn’t. They then liaise with the development team to create those designs and include them as part of the solution within the theme.

OptimizePress enables you to create:

  • Squeeze pages with a series of templates. These are highly customisable and can be standard squeeze pages, video squeeze pages, fake video squeeze pages. Every element of the design is customisable.
  • Sales pages with a series of templates which are again highly customisable.
  • Membership site pages. The theme enables you to build a complete membership site using the options within the theme. It integrates very easily with the top membership scripts such as WishList Member or Digital Access Pass.
  • Launch funnel pages which enables you to drip feed content to your audience in a timely fashion like you’ve probably seen the gurus do when they launch products. Some of the top american gurus such as Frank Kern, Ryan Deiss and Andy Jenkins often use a system such as Kajabi which is very similar to OptimizePress.

One of the big benefits of Optimize Press is the amazing customer service and support membership they which includes an active forum with many experienced people on hand to answer your questions.

#2 Profits Theme

Profits Theme Header

The next solution on offer is another premium WordPress theme called Profits Theme which is developed by Welly Mulia and his team. Profits Theme enables the user to create web pages such as Squeeze pages, sales pages, membership pages and even blog pages with relative ease.

The real benefit of Profits Theme over Optimize Press is that it uses drag and drop technology to arrange the layout of your pages how you want them. This makes it really easy for even the most technically challenged of marketers.

Profits Theme enables you to:

  • Create squeeze pages by dragging and dropping page elements into position.
  • Create sales pages by dragging and dropping.
  • Create blog pages with advertising blocks, opt in areas and footer widgets.
  • Create membership pages which integrates with the top membership scripts such as Wishlist Member and Digital Access Pass.

Conclusion

So, which is the better. Well, they will both be a $97 investment, so the decision is based upon what you’re trying to achieve.

I own both of these themes and have had a lot of experience in using them and dealing with their respective customer service forums. Here are my findings.

Creation of Squeeze Pages

Optimize Press produces the better quality squeeze page but it is easier and faster to create a good looking squeeze page using Profits Theme.

Winner = Profits Theme

Creation of Sales Pages

OptimizePress produces the better quality sales pages with the shortcodes and graphics looking much better than those supplied by Profits Theme.

Winner = OptimizePress

Creation of Membership Sites

Optimize Press produces a better looking membership site and easily integrates with the main membership scripts. The membership pages are 710 pixels wide which is wide enough for the majority of users to fit good sized videos in. The shortcodes enables you to create great looking graphical elements within your membership pages.

Winner = OptimizePress

Creation of Blog Posts

Profits Theme is still a much better theme for creating standard blog posts as OptimizePress was not originally developed as a standard WordPress theme. However, since Profits Theme came to the attention of the OptimizePress team, they have now applied a lot of focus into making it a standard WordPress blog theme too. The race is now on for these themes to become the first all in one WordPress theme.

If I was honest, I would suggest using neither of these themes as your standard WordPress blog theme. I would suggest using WooThemes and selecting a theme of your choice from their amazing collection.

Winner = Profits Theme

My overall recommendation is OptimizePress. It is still the leading theme for the creation of squeeze pages, sales pages, launch funnels and membership sites. I do prefer the drag and drop functionality of Profits Theme for building quick squeeze pages but since I have to choose one or the other as you cannot have more than one WordPress theme on a single WordPress installation, I have opted to use OptimizePress.

Tell us all what you think!? Have you had any experience with these themes? Do you know any alternatives that have not been spoken about?

Facebook FBML No longer Valid, Causing Major Problems

As many of you know, Facebook FBML is no longer available, and guys, it’s been a long time since I’ve gone out on a limb and suggested things to other Internet Marketers and/or people interested in growing their online business, but some incredible things can’t be kept secret.

It’s a new and exciting thing called FBMaxed, and it’s the solution to the problems that are affecting Facebook FBML which is the tab that is no longer available on Facebook as of last week. As a matter of fact, FBML has been rendered completely obsolete by Facebook programmers.

Solution for Facebook FBML Discontinuations

The solution to this is what Facebook calls iFrames. CNBC news giant actually covered a story about Facebook FBML discontinuation and how iFrames and FBMaxed are the solution! In the article from CNBC, they discuss things about iFrames and how FBMaxed is replacing FBML; it’s a solution to the problem. The solution to Facebook FBML is iFrames with FBMaxed. FBMaxed handsomely combines the rich capabilities of the iFrame with HTML framework to produce excellent websites and landing pages for your Business Facebook Fanpages.

This boils down to one thing guys; if you’re trying to target any type of audience, the old way was to use Google AdWords. Everybody wanted Google AdWords! Now, with Facebook taking over the market and completely dominating Google, this means that Internet Marketers (IM), CPA Marketers, PPC Marketers, and all types of IMs, are now using the Facebook platform too quietly and effectively market users and their specific niche market that they want to target.

Because of this new marketing opportunity on Facebook, and Facebook FBML Social Media entrepreneurs need to know about this. It’s the most important thing that a user or a potential fan will see when they go to your Business Facebook Fanpage is nice graphics, targeted content, relevant content, and an offer that appeals to them so that they hit that “like” button! As soon as they hit the “like” button, they’ll now be part of every single update and every single advertisement that you put out there; and not only that, now your post goes to their wall which posts to their friends wall, and so on and so forth. It’s completely viral at that point guys.

Why FBMaxed is Solution to Facebook FBML

FBMaxed allows you, the Internet Marketer (IM) and Social Media Manager (SMM), to use templates and easy-to-work-with-designs for quick solutions to your Business Facebook Fan Pages that are now broken due to the Facebook FBML coding termination. So is FBMaxed a static website or a website on which you can do things from? From an Internet Marketer’s point of view this becomes an important point to consider. There are three important things that an Internet Marketer and Social Media Manager would find appealing about the structure of iFrames and FBMaxed:

  • You can add videos to this template
  • You can add your own opt-in pages into the website
  • You can change the background colors of the webpage (Landing Page of Business Facebook Fanpage) using very simple FTP program and text editor

All of these things mentioned above were possible using the Facebook FBML which is now on its way out the door. As a matter-of-fact, Facebook FBML is already gone! This is the reason why the FBMaxed program uses capabilities built into an iFrame system to makes the whole process so user-friendly!

I’ve seen high-end Social Media Management companies, “website marketing gurus”, and many more, charge thousands of dollars to build your Business Facebook Fanpage using their software. This is completely unnecessary because FBMaxed is extremely affordable and actually it’s a sin that it’s this cheap!

For under $50, you have solution to your client’s Business Facebook FBML Fanpage problem!

My Personal Experience with Facebook FBML

Listen, I’ve been working with Facebook FBML long before Facebook Social Media Marketing Management came along, and I can tell you that there is no better solution in getting your point across to the Facebook community than there is with FBMaxed. I’ve been waiting on something like this for over two years! Instead of somebody going straight to your wall and only seeing boring posts about things they’re not interested in, FBMaxed helps your Business Facebook Fanpage look exactly like your website with banners, opt-in email forms and much more. Get FBMaxed right now!

Also, one last thing; I want you to consider this statistic: 80% of all developmental programming happening in the United States is for mobile devices. iFrames and the FBMaxed system, which is an HTML format for your front page of your Facebook website, is completely compatible with the Android software, the iPhone software, the iPad software and the Blackberry software. FBMaxed has it all covered! So guys, listen, if you need a solution to your Facebook FBML problems, take a moment and check out the FBMaxed system, you’ll be happy you did!
